Supply Chain & Procurement Consultant- Defence Industry

duMonde is seeking an experienced Defence Industry Procurement and/or Supply Chain professional to build on and grow our existing footprint in one of Australia’s largest shipbuilding projects. As a key project-based team member, you will provide leadership and practitioner-based insights/advice on all aspects of supplier management including; identification, evaluation, selection and ongoing development in support of Australian Industry Capability (AIC) efforts to maximize the level of Australian industry involvement in the program and the building of a long-term and sustainable naval shipbuilding industry in Australia.

About the Role

Responsibilities may include but are not be limited to:

  •   Key internal/external stakeholder engagement
  •   Supply Chain strategy and planning
  •   Supplier identification, evaluation, selection and ongoing development
  •   Supply Chain and logistics program/project management
  •   Supply Chain analysis and inventory optimisation and planning
  •   Logistics operational planning, improvement, risk management and process design
  •   Strong analytical skills and an ability to provide practical solutions through a partnered approach that our clients will value

The Successful Applicant

Will be a highly motivated and driven professional with:

  •   A tertiary qualification in Business, Management, Logistics, Contracts or Supply Chain, or Certificate 4 in Supply/Logistics and/or Procurement related training and equivalent work experience
  •   Analytical/process driven and able to identify, capture and deliver innovation
  •   Excellent computer skills and an in-depth knowledge of MS Office Products
  •   Industry knowledge within supply chain & logistics, preferably with at least 5 years of experience
  •   An ability to think laterally and drive improvements across the supply chain
  •   Proven project management skills
  •   Strong team player with good communication and negotiation skills
  •   Government and/or Defence Industry experience necessary
  •   Experience in MRP/ERP systems and strong IT skills an advantage
  •   An active or previously held AGSVA Security Clearance
  •   Eligibility to work in Australia
  •   Willingness to work in Canberra
